Fundraising
Each year the PTFA seeks to help departments within the school by providing financial assistance to purchase essential equipment to enhance the education of pupils of all ages and abilities at TBSHS. Details on how funds have been allocated can be seen on the Spending tab.
The PTFA raises money through a variety of popular social events such as quiz nights and the Candlelit Supper. Additional funds are raised from the 300 Club, Give As You Live, second hand uniform sales and providing refreshments at events held by TBSHS.
After the amazing success of The Black and Gold Quiz Night in March 2025, the Candlelit Supper on Friday 5th December 2025 was attended by over 200 guests who enjoyed a wonderful meal from BLT Catering and entertainment from the fantastic school jazz band and our brilliant DJ. Our thanks to the sixth formers who worked the tech and were servers for the evening. We raised just over £8000 for the school which is an incredible achievement.
The PTFA would like to thank all the businesses who supported the evening by providing raffle prizes. These include Great Garnetts, Despina at Travel , Westcott Wills, Tees Law, Manor of Groves, Meryl Photography, Great Hadham Country Club, Bailey Hills, Jonathan Holland, Sawbridgeworth Osteopathic Clinic, Bloom Your Beauty, Forever Balanced Therapy, Benefit PT, Woo Wellness, BSLTC, The Croft Room, Nuffield Health, Stansted Airport, Katie's Tennis, The Pizza Guys, Akasha Wellness, and Carmel Jane Photography as well as the many school families who donated too.
Thank you to Alfresco Hire who provided the tables, chairs and linen and Pinnacle Catering Hire for the tableware.
